I’ll say straight out that it’s impossible to know the best stretch mark prevention product.  But what I can tell you is that a good quality stretch mark cream is essential if you don’t want stretch marks.

And who does right?

The problem is that although the skin can stretch there are limits to its elasticity.  If you’re pregnant, a bodybuilder, have a growth spurt or you just put weight on, there’s a big chance you’ll get stretch marks.

Your skins ability to stretch is down to a couple of proteins elastin and collagen.  These two guys do a great job of making sure your skin doesn’t rupture when it stretches.  But the body only produces so much of these proteins and if your body changes quickly they simply can’t handle it.

So for stretch mark prevention you need more elastin and collagen to stop your skin rupturing.  However I’m sure you don’t want injections and you also don’t want creams that are full of harmful chemicals.

First of all bodybuilders get stretch marks.  I wish someone had warned me.  If you’re putting on bulk quickly the skin can’t handle it.  Skin can stretch but it takes time to adapt, so if you’re adding bulk your skin is likely to rupture causing stretch marks.  Not cool.
